Website Process
A whole lot goes into a website.
Our Job is to make it as simple as possible
Hey!
We are BEYOND excited to begin working with you and your business. We are a small local team of designers (and nerds) whose goal is to make you feel seen, understood, and taken care of. We will do out best to treat your business as our business. If there is ever anything you LOVE or don’t particularly care for, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me (Adam) directly.
First up. Expectations - This one is HUGEEEEE. Websites can be complicated. Our goal is to make everything as simple and straight forward as possible but there are SOOOO many variables that it makes nailing down exact timeframes and pricing difficult.
Timeline – We do not take on more clients than we can handle at once. We want to give you and your business the attention it deserves. However, every website is different and some things can take longer than expected. The biggest thing with making a website quickly is communication. We strive to always respond to emails within on business day and it works best if you do the same. We do not move on to the next step until the current step is complete and you are 100% happy with what we have. Once we complete a step, we try really hand not to go back. With all that in mind, websites can be built in as short as 5 weeks or as long as 3 months. The biggest factor is quick communication. If you ever feel like we are not serving you well or if there are things that could make our service better, please let me know.
Pricing - Once you sign a contract, the pricing for building the site will not change unless you decide to add something that is not on the contract. I encourage you to look over our pricing in detail and make sure you understand what it takes to maintain a website after the first year. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Media
If your package includes any photos or video, Adam will schedule those with you right away so that they are ready when we start the creation of the website.
Step One
Discovery Meeting
Once you pay your deposit, we will officially begin the process. yayyyyy
If you know you want to work with us, but we have not signed a contract or paid a deposit yet, you can still begin to work on all the items below while we complete our current websites.
Every Client gets their own portal on Monday.com where they can see the steps and progress in detail.
You will be given a to-do list to complete and you will communicate with the entire team right inside Monday.com
Each Step Begins with a questionnaire and we don’t move to the next step until it is complete.
Don’t worry about having all the answers. We just want to know what you DO know and we can help you figure out the rest!
The first step is to pay the deposit and then we will schedule a meeting with you, myself, and my design team.
Step Two
This step focuses on the basics. Name, tag line, domain name, email address, etc…
Some of our clients are starting from scratch and some are already full steam ahead, and thats great! If you need help with a name or any of the other basics, just let us know! During step two, we are going to get all the basics nailed down before we move on to the more fun stuff.
Step Three -
Branding
This is the step where we really start getting excited! This is where we start making pretty things!
We need you to go to Pinterest.com and start pinning!! Think about your business and pin everything you like. Pin colors, logos, photos. Pin everything your eye is drawn to. It doesn’t have to be related to your business or field at all, just whatever you are drawn to. If you need help getting started, search for “color pallet, mood board, branding guide, logo ideas, etc…”
Once you have several dozen pretty things pinned, share it with us on the branding form !
We will look it all over and create some mood boards for your business. From the different samples she creates, you will choose what one you like the most. We try and stick to FIVE ROUNDS of editing for Step Three. What that means is that you look at what we created and you spend some time thinking about you really like and really don’t like and send us a detailed email with your thoughts. What we do not want is 15 separate emails, a few texts, and some things mentioned during several phone calls. We want each round of editing to be thought out and purposeful. We are happy to change as much as you want each round, we just want to try and get it perfect in five total rounds of edits. Remember, we are not looking at the content of the photos as much as the feeeeeeeel of the photos.
Once you have the perfect “mood board” or collection of inspirational items that represent the overall “feel” of your business, we will begin the logo creation.
We will use the same Pinterest board to create logo ideas. From the ideas, we will tweak them until you have something you love! We will use the same five round revision process as the moodboards.
Now we have colors, fonts, logos, and inspiration to be inspired by as we start to build your site! It is very important that you love what we have because once the final moodboard is approved, we do not go back to make further changes.

Step Four
Layout & Site Map
What tabs do you want across the top of your site? About, contact, purchase, etc…
Will you be selling products? What kind? Physical products to mail? Physical products for pickup only? Digital products such as videos or classes? Services you perform? Subscriptions?
Do you need scheduling or any special features? - See pricing of special features HERE
We need to have this site map or “skeleton” of the website finalized before we start on the actual design of the website.
Fill out the site layout form below
Step 5
Homepage
Here we go, this is why we are here!
We don’t start the actual design of the website until after we get all the above steps finalized. Then, we take alllllll the above content and create a home page! We will have buttons and links on the homepage, they just don’t go anywhere yet. The menu is there with the tabs you want, but none of the sub pages are working yet. We will need all the text you want on the home page so be sure and add that to our Google Drive link on Monday.com.
REVISIONS – We will send you the initial home page design and just like before, you get five rounds of revisions. So you will look it over and send us an email with all the changes you want made. We will make the changes and then you can send us another round of revisions. repeat that a few times until you’re happy.
Step Six
Sub Pages
Now that everything above is finalized, we can start building the sub pages. By now, you should have the text you want on these pages so make sure it is all in the Google Drive link on Monday.com and we will work on making it pretty! The sub pages get edited and revised just like everything else, with five rounds of revisions. Note: not five rounds for each page, just five total rounds.
Seven
Special features and pages
Many of our clients need a website that does more than just share information. Step seven is when we start working on all the techy things. Setting up an e-commerce store, scheduling, accepting payments, etc… Step seven is the only step in the entire process we might start out of order. Because this can be one of the most time consuming steps, we might need to start this earlier in the process.
Step Eight
Launch!
Let’s gooooo!!! You and Adam will have a meeting discussing how everything will launch and the order of events. Once you pay the remaining balance, we will launch! We will send you an email with instructions on how to make simple changes to your website, all your usernames and passwords, and any final instructions. Once we launch, any additional edits will be billed to you monthly at $55 an hour.
